A former Deputy Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo, has marked 35 years in politics, describing the period as a journey of dedication, hard work and commitment to public service.
Gwarzo, who is also the immediate past Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, said the milestone coincided with his first election into public office as Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area in 1989 on the platform of the defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP).
In a statement issued on Monday and shared on his social media platforms, the former deputy governor said December 8 holds special significance in his political career.
“Today, December 8, marks a milestone in my journey of public service. Thirty-five years ago, I was first elected as Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government under the Social Democratic Party,” he said.
He noted that his years in politics had been defined by commitment to the people and a desire to contribute meaningfully to the development of society.
Gwarzo expressed appreciation to the public for the confidence and trust reposed in him over the years, saying the support had continued to motivate him to serve.
He pledged to sustain his service to the community, stressing his resolve to remain dedicated to the ideals of good governance and public service.
