The MATA organisation has held its 7th annual conference in Kano, bringing together women from different parts of Nigeria and abroad to discuss issues affecting women and society.

The statement said the conference provided a platform for women from various sectors, including business, academia, public service and entrepreneurship, to exchange ideas and propose solutions to social and economic challenges.
According to the statement, the theme of the conference focused on “building better futures through collaboration, innovation and purpose-driven leadership.”
It added that the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Dr. Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta, delivered a keynote address on the role of women in economic transformation.
“The conference was attended by women from diverse sectors who came together to share experiences and discuss practical ways of strengthening women’s participation in development,” the statement said.
Also in attendance, according to the statement, was the Vice-Chancellor of Skyline University, alongside other professionals and stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, the founder of MATA stressed the need for women to take responsibility for their personal and collective growth.
“She emphasised the importance of women taking charge of their narratives and investing in development at the family, career and business levels,” the statement noted.
The statement added that participants engaged in panel discussions, workshops and networking sessions aimed at capacity building and collaboration among women.
