The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s deliberate health policies are gradually addressing brain drain in Nigeria while promoting medical industrialisation.
Idris made the remark on Friday during the Fourth Attestation Ceremony of the 2025 MBBS class of Nile University of Nigeria in Abuja.
He said, “We can see the impact of the President’s initiatives: he has launched six oncology centers across the country and rehabilitated all tertiary healthcare facilities. This is an indication that the Nigerian healthcare system is on its way to becoming world-class, thanks to policies that are encouraging medical industrialisation.”
The Minister urged medical professionals to embrace President Tinubu’s vision, noting that the administration is committed to ensuring that all professionals have the capacity and comfort to remain in Nigeria and practice their profession.
Idris added that the healthcare sector is steadily improving through the revamping of primary healthcare facilities and increased funding, which are further boosting medical industrialisation in the country.
The ceremony saw 58 MBBS graduates take the solemn oath of medical practice, including Rukaya Mohammed Idris, daughter of the Minister, whose dedication to the profession drew admiration from parents and guardians in attendance.
