The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) executive members in Gargari Ward, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, have expelled the party’s state chairman, Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa.
The decision was contained in a resolution issued at the end of the ward’s second executive meeting, held two weeks after Dungurawa’s re-election.
The resolution, made available to journalists on Monday in Kano, was signed by 27 ward executive members and endorsed by the Ward Chairman, Alhaji Shuaibu Hassan, and the Ward Secretary, Alhaji Yahaya Saidu Dungurawa.
According to the document, Dungurawa was removed over allegations of creating divisions within the party, instigating internal crises, failure to pay party dues, and making abusive remarks against the Governor of Kano State.
The ward executives described the alleged actions as “unacceptable and detrimental to the image, unity and progress of the NNPP,” adding that the decision was taken in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution.
“The action became necessary in order to uphold discipline, unity and internal cohesion within the party,” the resolution stated.
The ward leadership said copies of the resolution had been forwarded to the party’s local government, state and national headquarters for necessary action.
It added that the document was also served on the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for their information and further directives.
The executives said the decision would serve as a deterrent to party members who misuse their positions and disregard party rules.
They reaffirmed their loyalty to the NNPP national leadership under Kwankwaso and pledged continued support for Governor Yusuf, stressing their commitment to peace, unity and the advancement of the party.
