President Bola Tinubu, alongside the Director-General of the Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP), Dr Adebowale Adedokun, on Saturday paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as the state hosted the 73rd edition of the Eyo Festival.

The visit coincided with the annual cultural celebration, which drew dignitaries from across the country to Lagos.

The Eyo Festival, popularly known as the Adamu Orisa play, featured an eight-hour procession through major streets of Lagos before culminating at the Tafawa Balewa Square, attracting large crowds of residents, tourists and cultural enthusiasts.

Speaking at the event, President Tinubu described the festival as more than a cultural display, saying it reflects the depth and diversity of Nigeria’s heritage.

In an address titled “Lagos accentuates the richness of Nigerian culture with the Eyo Festival,” the president said the festival remains a strong symbol of Lagos’ history and cultural identity.

He added that traditional events such as the Eyo Festival promote unity and help preserve Nigeria’s rich cultural values.
