Residents of the Yelwa area of Bauchi State, on Sunday, turned out in large numbers for the 11th annual sugarcane-eating festival.


According to Albarka Radio Bauchi, the event attracted people from Yelwa Quarters and neighbouring communities and featured a series of speeches.

The Chief Imam of the Jumu’ah Mosque delivered a sermon on the importance of social bonding in Islam, while a medical doctor spoke on the health benefits of consuming sugarcane.
