Rano Emirate Council Appoints Three District Heads

The Rano Emirate Council has approved the appointment of new District Heads for Rano, Bunkure, and Kibiya local government areas in Kano State.

The new appointees are Muhammad Aminu Isah Umaru as District Head of Bunkure, Alhaji Bala Garba as District Head of Rano, and Abubakar Sunusi Ilah as District Head of Kibiya.

In a confirmation letter addressed to Alhaji Bala Garba Rano and signed by the Council Secretary, Ahmad Abdullahi Muhammad, the Emir of Rano, Amb. (Dr.) Alhaji Mohammed Isah Umar, 19th Autan Bawo, stated that the appointments were approved at the Council’s sitting on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

The letter read in part: “I am honored to inform you that His Royal Highness, with the approval of the Rano Emirate Council, has approved your appointment as the District Head of Rano, Rano Local Government. This appointment is in recognition of your dedication and tireless efforts in promoting peace, supporting the community, and assisting government authorities.”

It further directed that the new District Head administer his responsibilities “with justice, fairness, and integrity, and work in close collaboration with the Local Government and other security agencies.” The letter also announced that Alhaji Garba’s official duties would commence on Friday, January 30, 2026, during his formal installation.

Alhaji Bala Garba, a graduate of Bayero University, Kano, previously served at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment as State Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Adamawa, Borno, Sokoto, Kebbi, and Katsina states. He is also a member of several professional and union bodies.

The Emirate Council extended congratulations and prayers for guidance, wisdom, and prosperity in the new role.
