Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has chaired the maiden Executive Council meeting of the year 2026, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to good governance, transparency and sustainable development.

According to the statement, the meeting, which was the 37th Executive Council meeting since the inception of the administration, was held at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
Governor Yusuf said the meeting reflected his administration’s renewed focus on prioritising the welfare of the people and fast-tracking development across the state.
“The meeting underscored our renewed commitment to prioritising the welfare of the people and accelerating development across Kano State,” the governor was quoted as saying.
He commended members of the Executive Council for their dedication and commitment to the implementation of government policies and programmes aimed at improving the living conditions of the people.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to entrench transparency, accountability and effective service delivery across all sectors of governance.
“Our administration remains resolute in entrenching transparency, accountability and effective service delivery for the benefit of all citizens,” Yusuf said.
He urged council members to deepen their commitment and continue to support the government’s development agenda to ensure that dividends of democracy reach all parts of the state.
The statement added that the administration would continue to pursue policies and programmes targeted at inclusive growth and sustainable development for Kano State.
