The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has promoted and decorated 265 officers and men following the approval of their new ranks by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board.
The decoration ceremony took place at the Command Headquarters in Kano, where the State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, presided over the event and congratulated the newly promoted personnel.
A statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Idris Abdullahi, and made available to Kano Times on Friday, said the promotion was a recognition of the officers’ dedication and commitment to duty.
Commandant Agalama described the elevation as a reward for discipline, loyalty and selfless service, urging the officers to regard their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility.
“Your elevation is in recognition of your dedication, discipline, selfless service and commitment to duty,” the commandant said.
He further charged them to uphold the core values of the Corps, including integrity, patriotism, professionalism, and respect for constituted authority while performing their duties.
The commandant warned against indiscipline and unprofessional conduct, stressing that the Command would not tolerate any behaviour capable of tarnishing the image of the Corps.
He noted that professionalism, teamwork and strict adherence to operational guidelines were essential to achieving the Command’s mandate of protecting critical national assets and ensuring public safety across Kano State.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Abdulhakim Kamilu Ado, member representing Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, senior officers of the Command, representatives of sister security agencies, family members and well-wishers.
