Galadima: Tinubu Will Lose 2027 Poll If Free, Fair

A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has declared that President Bola Tinubu will suffer defeat in the 2027 presidential election if it is conducted in a free and fair manner.

Galadima made the bold assertion during an appearance on Daily Politics, a programme on Trust TV, insisting that the opposition will trounce the All Progressives Congress (APC) if voters’ will prevails.

“The truth must be told. There is no APC presidential candidate in 2027 that can get the mandate of the people if there is a free and fair election,” he said.

Dismissing concerns over recent defections bolstering the APC, Galadima issued a direct challenge: “He will not win. If there is a free and fair election, let him try it. I challenge him.”

He rooted his prediction in deep public discontent, especially among rural dwellers and farmers who form Nigeria’s population majority, blaming federal policies for crippling agriculture through soaring input costs and misguided imports.

“Farmers constitute the majority of the Nigerian population. And none of them, no farmer, will vote for an APC government,” Galadima stated.

“Buyers are not happy with the development, which means next year there will be no incentive for anybody to go to the farm. And if they don’t go to the farm, there will be a problem. This government has decided to import things that Nigerians can produce to crash prices.”

Galadima cautioned that declining farm activity could fuel insecurity, as hunger and unemployment breed crime. “People must eat. Because if they don’t go to the farm, they can’t eat. That makes it easy for me to say that the APC will lose the election flat,” he added.

The NNPP leader also restated his longstanding view that Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the 2019 presidential poll.

“And I can swear by the Quran that Abubakar won that election on adult suffrage. Yes, I have said this time without number. Even when Muhammadu Buhari was in power, I said it over one million times in the press that Buhari lost the 2019 election to Atiku,” he declared.
