Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Kano State, has officially resigned from his position as a member of the Kano State Executive Council.
In a statement released on Monday, Kwankwaso said the decision to step down was made with a heavy heart, expressing gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve the people of Kano State.
The former commissioner said, “It is with a heavy heart that I announce my resignation as Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and Member of the Kano State Executive Council.”
Kwankwaso thanked the governor for the trust placed in him, noting that he cherished the experiences and lessons gained during his tenure.
He added, “I want to express my deepest gratitude to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve the great people of Kano State. I have cherished the experiences and lessons gained while serving, and I appreciate the trust placed in me.”
The former commissioner also urged that the youth of Kano State continue to receive the support and attention they deserve.
“As I resign, I pray that the youth of Kano State will continue to receive the attention and support they deserve,” he said.
Kwankwaso expressed optimism about the future of sports development in the state, stating his confidence that ongoing programs and initiatives would continue to grow.
“I hope for the best for our sports development programs and initiatives, and I am confident that they will flourish in the years to come,” he said.
He concluded the statement with a prayer for the state, wishing the government and people of Kano well.
“May Allah (SWT) continue to shower His blessings on our beloved Kano State. I wish the government and people of Kano State all the best,” Kwankwaso said.
