Stakeholders in Nigeria’s education sector are set to converge in Kano for the Private Schools Conference on Digital Academic Transformation, aimed at reducing the digital gap in private schools across the country.
The summit, themed “Smarter Schools, Better Management,” will hold on January 31, 2026, at the Twin Theatre, Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN).
A major highlight of the event is the official launch of SchoolTra, a digital school management solution designed to modernise school administration, enhance governance, and improve learning outcomes.
The conference is being organised by Zenith Global IT Solutions in partnership with the Kano State Ministries of Education and Power and Renewable Energy, and Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR).
Founder of SchoolTra and CEO of Zenith Global IT Solutions, Abdullahi Sabo Mahuta, said the initiative aligns with Nigeria’s growing emphasis on digital literacy and innovation in education.
He noted that many private schools still rely on manual systems, which affect efficiency and accountability.
“Private schools play a crucial role in Nigeria’s education delivery, but many still struggle with inefficient manual systems,” Mahuta said. “SchoolTra offers an integrated, technology-driven platform that enhances transparency, accountability, and overall academic performance.”
Mahuta added that the conference is designed as a practical intervention, providing participants with hands-on exposure to the platform’s features.
The system includes AI-powered lesson planning tools, computer-based testing, online result processing, financial management modules, smart attendance tracking, and digital admission portals. Participating schools will also receive free institutional websites as part of the package.
To encourage adoption, organisers announced incentives for early registrants. The first 100 schools to register will receive a 60% onboarding discount and a one-term free subscription to the SchoolTra platform.
The Founder of MAAUN, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, will be the Special Guest of Honour at the event.
The conference is expected to attract school proprietors, policymakers, investors, and education administrators from across the region.
In addition to the software launch, the programme will feature training sessions on the use of Artificial Intelligence in education and data-driven school management.
Participants will also receive certificates, gain software access, and be provided with comprehensive conference materials.
Organisers said the initiative is a major step toward aligning Nigeria’s private education sector with global best practices in digital governance, innovation, and capacity development.
