Rep. Abba Bichi Commissions Hagagawa Mega Primary School, Employs 180 More Teachers

Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, member of the House of Representatives for Bichi Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, on Tuesday commissioned the reconstructed Hagagawa Mega Primary School in Bichi Local Government Area.

Established in 1930, Hagagawa Primary School had been on the verge of collapse before the reconstruction. The newly refurbished facility now boasts upgraded classrooms, a modern library, a computer laboratory, recreational facilities, and a mini-stadium to promote extracurricular activities for students.

At the event, Hon. Bichi announced the employment of 180 additional classroom teachers to be deployed across primary schools in Bichi, bringing the total number of teachers he has employed to 500. Each teacher is set to earn a monthly salary of ₦60,000, amounting to ₦30 million monthly and ₦360 million annually in salaries.

Speaking during the commissioning, Hon. Bichi reaffirmed his commitment to replicating similar model schools in Danzabuwa (Bichi North), Saye (Bichi East), and Ciranci communities.

Teachers and student associations in the area lauded the lawmaker for his investment in education.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Reps. Kabir Alhassan Rurum, Sagir Ibrahim Koki, Abdullahi Rogo, and Hussaini Kero, MD of Hadejia Jamare River Basin Development Authority, Dr. Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, DG of National Productivity Commission, Hon. Baffa Babba, Chairman of Bichi Local Government, Hon. Hamza Maifata, Kano State Assembly member Hon. Lawan Shehu Bichi, the SUBEB Chairman, old students, well-wishers, and other community leaders.
