Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State, has expelled 15 female students for their involvement in sex video offences, the institution’s Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Bode Ayorinde, has disclosed.
Prof. Ayorinde made the revelation on Friday during the university’s matriculation ceremony, which saw 936 students take the matriculation oath.
He warned students to avoid acts that could jeopardize their studentship, stressing that the university maintains a zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline.
“You put your phone before you and you’re dancing naked, and you put Achievers University there, I will dismiss you. Use social media for positive things,” he said.
Prof. Ayorinde added that one male student, who was about to graduate, was expelled after allegedly inviting Boko Haram to the university. “We refunded his N2.3 million and dismissed him,” he noted.
He continued, “Use the money you’re paying here well, not to be doing sex videos or taking drugs. We have dismissed more than 15 female students over sex video offences. If you want to graduate and rule the world, you won’t go into such acts. Women are not meant for entertainment; they can rule the world.”
The Pro-Chancellor recalled that in 2025, the management dismissed 17 students for attempting to obtain examination clearance fraudulently without paying school fees. He also revealed that three students were expelled for dealing in hard drugs.
He urged students to report drug abuse, warned against fighting and alcohol consumption, and reiterated that any staff or student found guilty of sexual molestation would face strict disciplinary action.
Prof. Ayorinde also called on parents and guardians to guide their children, saying, “Some parents indulge their children in wrongdoing; remind them constantly to take their studies seriously.”
Meanwhile, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Amos Aremu, said the university prioritizes quality assurance, discipline, and academic integrity.
He described the matriculation not merely as a ticket to higher education but as an invitation to a journey of self-discovery, intellectual growth, and societal impact.
