The Public Enlightenment Movement (PEM), a pan-political group, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for its efforts in infrastructure development, housing delivery, and improved mobility as foundations for economic growth and national integration.
The National Coordinator of PEM, Mr. Nuhu Abdullahi, disclosed this on Saturday during a combined Phase 5 and Phase 6 briefing of the project in Kano.
Abdullahi explained that the programme was designed to provide factual updates on selected development efforts being implemented in Northern Nigeria under President Tinubu’s leadership, in the interest of public awareness and transparency.
He said Phases 5 and 6 of the project focused on major road infrastructure initiatives along the Babura corridor in Katsina State and the Dawanau axis in Kano State, noting that the projects had improved traffic flow, strengthened commercial activities, and supported agricultural distribution in key economic areas.
“Further interventions include road improvements around Funtua in Katsina State, enhancing access for farming communities. There is also noticeable progress along the Kano–Hadeja route, where improved road conditions are reducing travel time and improving commuter safety,” he added.
Abdullahi also highlighted developments in the health sector, including upgrades at the Federal Medical Centre, Misau, through the conversion of the General Hospital, Misau. He said the interventions were expanding tertiary healthcare delivery, strengthening medical capacity, and improving access to quality healthcare services for surrounding communities.
He further mentioned strategic road projects such as the Ajaokuta–Okene and Akwanga corridors, describing them as key to boosting interstate connectivity and supporting economic and social activities across regions.
While noting that the projects showcased represented only a fraction of ongoing federal interventions nationwide, Abdullahi emphasized that the briefing aimed to enhance public enlightenment and promote transparency.
He reiterated that the phases underscored the Tinubu administration’s commitment to infrastructure development, housing delivery, and improved mobility as key drivers of economic growth and national integration.
