Head coach of Barau FC, Eugene Agbabe, on Friday apologised to Freedom Radio journalist, Aminu Halilu Tudun Wada, over verbal abuse and an alleged attempt to physically assault him after a Nigeria Premier Football League match against Kun Khalifat FC.
The apology followed a reconciliation meeting organised by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Kano State chapter.
Agbabe admitted his wrongdoing during the meeting and assured those present that such conduct would not happen again.
Speaking at the meeting, the General Manager of Barau FC, Dominic Iorfa, pledged that the club would work harmoniously with SWAN and journalists in Kano State.
Iorfa also announced the appointment of Tudun Wada as the coach’s Special Assistant on Media, citing his qualifications and the need to strengthen the relationship between the club and the media.
Journalists, SWAN officials and representatives of Barau FC attended the reconciliation meeting held at the Sani Abacha Stadium Mix Zone in Kano earlier on Friday.
