Gunmen on Friday abducted the Secretary of Kibiya Local Government Area, Hon. Hamza Musa Durba, during a late-night attack on his residence in Dinya town, Durba Ward.
The Chief Security Officer of Kibiya Local Government Area, Musa Hussaini Ibrahim, told Kano Times that the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. when six armed men on motorcycles stormed the secretary’s home.
“They came in swiftly and took him away without firing a single shot,” Hussaini said.
He added that security agencies have since mobilized to track down the assailants and ensure Durba’s safe release.
“We are working closely with the police and other security operatives. Our priority is to bring him back safely,” he said.
No further details on the motive behind the abduction or the whereabouts of the gunmen have been disclosed as the investigation continues.
