Kano-based musician and former Senior Special Adviser on Culture and Entertainment to Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf, Tijjani Gandu, says he has recorded his highest-ever earnings from his newly released song, Falle Daya, just two days after its debut.
Gandu made this disclosure in an interview with DCL Hausa, monitored by Kano Times, attributing the song’s success to its widespread popularity across social media platforms.
“Since I released my song Falle Daya two days ago, by the grace of God, it has been trending across all social media platforms. There is hardly any topic gaining more public attention right now than Tijjani Gandu and this song,” he said.
The artiste further revealed that the song has generated unprecedented revenue for him, particularly through digital platforms.
“Let me also say that I have never earned this much in dollars from any of my previous works like I have from Falle Daya, through my Facebook page and other platforms such as YouTube. I am still counting the earnings coming in from the song. All thanks and gratitude go to Almighty Allah,” Gandu added.
Kano Times reports that Gandu recently resigned from his position as Senior Special Adviser on Culture and Entertainment to the Kano State Governor and reaffirmed his loyalty to the leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The song, Falle Daya—a Hausa phrase meaning “one term”—was unveiled during the NNPP movement’s annual ‘kalankuwa’ gathering held at Kwankwaso’s residence in Kano.
The event attracted a large number of supporters dressed in the movement’s signature red attire, with music, chants, and symbolic displays dominating the occasion.
Observers noted that the recurring phrase “Falle Daya, In Sha Allahu” (one term, God willing) in the song resonated strongly with attendees, who chorused it in unison.
The development has further amplified the song’s reach, contributing to its rapid rise in popularity and the artiste’s growing digital earnings.
