The Concerned Rivers People (CRP) has alleged that former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joy Nunieh, is involved in secret meetings with Gabriel Pidomson and Dumo Lulu-Briggs over the Rainbow Coalition.
CRP made the allegation in a statement issued on Sunday by its Publicity Secretary, Sunny Nwagbo.
The group claimed that Nunieh hosted a meeting with Pidomson and Lulu-Briggs at her residence to strategise against the coalition.
It further alleged that another meeting was scheduled to hold at Heliconia Park Hotel along the Eastern Bypass.
CRP, however, did not provide independent evidence to substantiate the alleged meetings.
The group said the alleged “clandestine meetings and backdoor politics” would not stop the activities of the Rainbow Coalition.
“Let it be known, the Rainbow Coalition has come to stay. These clandestine meetings and backdoor politics will not stop the will of the people; their plans will totally fail,” CRP said.
The organisation also accused Nunieh of forgetting the support she allegedly received during her tenure as NDDC managing director.
“It’s sad that human memory is so short when it comes to political matters. If Nunieh has forgotten, we will soon uncover details and let posterity pass a verdict,” the statement added.
CRP maintained that the coalition would continue with its activities despite what it described as attempts to undermine it.
