Forest Security Service Vows to Flush Out Bandits

The Deputy Commandant General of Nigeria’s Forests Security Services (Special Duties), Sunday Ojakovo, has warned bandits hiding in the country’s forests to vacate or be ready for a “total showdown.”

Ojakovo gave the warning on Friday during the grand finale of a five-day capacity building training for NFSS officers at Government College, Ughelli, Delta State.

“Criminals hiding in Nigeria’s forests to carry out their nefarious activities are advised to leave the forests immediately or else they should be ready for a total showdown in no distant time,” he said.

According to him, NFSS operatives are waiting for “official instructions from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to strike and flush out criminal enemies hiding in the country’s forests to carry out their criminal activities.”

“They are advised in their interest to leave before the evil days, as gallant officers and men of NFSS are much more ever ready for an assignment ahead of them,” he added.

Addressing officers at the training, Ojakovo urged them to use the skills and lessons from the exercise in the fight against terrorism.

“Our ungoverned forests are our business. Go and secure the forests of the nation, forests in our communities, and our domains. You are the one who knows them, go and secure them,” he said.

He commended the participating officers for their discipline and also thanked the resource persons, saying the training would help in tackling criminal activities in the country’s forests.
