APC members defect to NNPP in Kano, hail Gov Yusuf’s achievements

Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, on Sunday, received a group of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), describing their move as a major boost to the party’s grassroots strength.

The defectors, led by Malam Bala Ladani Gwarzo, announced their decision during a visit to the Deputy Governor’s office.

According to a statement issued by the Deputy Governor’s Press Secretary, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, the new members said they were motivated by the “remarkable achievements” of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.

The statement explained that the defectors were drawn from 10 wards in Gwarzo Local Government as well as adjoining councils.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Ladani praised Governor Yusuf’s people-focused leadership and pledged loyalty to the NNPP. He assured that the defectors would work tirelessly for the party’s success in future elections.

In his address, the Deputy Governor urged the new members to see their defection as a collective responsibility towards delivering positive change in Kano. He assured them of full support and integration into the party’s structure.

Also speaking, the NNPP leader in Gwarzo, Alhaji Abdulkadir Getso, revealed that more prominent figures were in talks to join the party soon.

Similarly, the Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government, Dr. Mani Tsoho, commended the defectors for their decision and assured them of equal treatment with existing members.

He expressed optimism that the NNPP would continue to attract more supporters and consolidate its position as the dominant party in the state.
