A former Principal of the Kano State College of Arts, Science and Remedial Studies (formerly Kano State College of Advanced Studies), Dr. Nasiru Ibrahim Dantiye, is dead. He was 76.
Family sources confirmed that the deceased passed away in Kano on Tuesday after a brief illness.
His younger brother and former Kano State Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye, said the funeral prayer would be held at the Kofar Kudu Emir’s Palace, Kano.
Dr. Dantiye served as the Chief Executive of the then Kano State College of Advanced Studies between 1995 and 1996. He also worked as a Director at Kano State Polytechnic before joining Northwest University, Kano (Formerly Yusuf Maitama Sule University), where he taught history.
He was also among the pioneer staff of the National Examinations Council (NECO), where he served as the Director of Administration and Supplies at its inception.
Late Dr. Dantiye is survived by wives, children, and grandchildren.
