The Young Progressives Party (YPP) has expressed profound sorrow over the death of its Kano State Chairman, Barrister Salisu Salisu Umar.
In a statement signed by Comrade Egbeola Wale Martins, National Publicity Secretary of the party, the YPP described Barr. Salisu as “a committed party man, a dedicated stakeholder and a pillar in the growth and consolidation of the Young Progressives Party in Kano State.”
The statement added that his “contributions to party building, mobilization and ideological advancement in the state were invaluable and will not be forgotten.”
Comrade Martins, on behalf of the national leadership and the party’s membership across the country, extended “heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, associates and all members of the YPP in Kano State over this painful and irreparable loss.”
He further prayed that “Almighty God grants his family the fortitude to bear this great loss and that everyone affected by his sudden demise finds strength, comfort and healing in this difficult time.”
To honour the late party leader, the statement directed that “all YPP flags at the National Secretariat and all State Secretariats across the federation be flown at half-mast for one week,” adding that “all State Chairmen are to comply strictly with this directive.”
The party concluded by praying, “May the soul of Barrister Salisu Salisu Umar rest in perfect peace.”
