The 2023 Kaduna State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Isah Ashiru Kudan, has officially resigned from the party, citing persistent internal conflicts and leadership crises as his reason.
In a resignation letter addressed to the party leadership and dated March 27, 2026, Ashiru Kudan wrote, “I write with a deep sense of humility to formally notify the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of my decision to resign my membership of the party, effective from today, the 27th day of March 2026.”
The former governorship aspirant explained that his decision followed careful reflection on the party’s internal challenges.
He stated, “After careful reflection on the persistent internal leadership crisis, conflicts, rancor, and divisions within the party, it has become increasingly difficult for me to continue to participate actively as a member of the party.”
Ashiru Kudan emphasized that the resignation was personal and taken in good faith, urging the party to accept it formally.
“This decision is personal and taken in good faith. Please kindly accept this letter as my formal notice of resignation from the Party (PDP),” he added.
His resignation comes at a time when the PDP in Kaduna State has been grappling with internal disagreements among various party factions, affecting its cohesion and electoral prospects.
