Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has said the 2027 presidential election will be his final attempt at the nation’s top job.
Atiku made the declaration on Wednesday during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme.
“The 2027 election will be my last outing,” he said.
When asked why Nigerians should vote for him after several unsuccessful presidential bids and considering his age, the former Vice President said Nigeria is facing a leadership problem, adding that he represents both the country’s past experience and its future direction.
Atiku also advocated leadership training for young Nigerians, saying the country urgently needs to invest in developing competent future leaders.
