PHOTOS: Massive Turnout as Supporters Back Rurum for Kano Deputy Governor

Hundreds of supporters from various local government areas in the Kano South Senatorial District on Sunday marched in Rano Local Government Area in a solidarity rally in support of the agitation for the Deputy Governor slot of Kano State, being championed by the people of Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure for Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan Rurum (Turakin Rano).

The rally, which attracted a large crowd, commenced from the residence of Turakin Rano and proceeded to the palace of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Rano, Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umar (Autan Bawo).

Rurum, who is currently representing Rano, Kibiya, and Bunkure Federal Constituency, was reportedly shortlisted alongside the former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Murtala Sule Garo, and the Managing Director of the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Rabiu Bichi.

Although Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is yet to forward a nominee to the State House of Assembly, the three aspirants are said to be engaged in intense political consultations and lobbying ahead of the final decision.
