The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) is set to convene in Abuja to address critical internal issues affecting the party.
In a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, NNPP National Secretary Mr. Oginni Olaposi Sunday announced that all party leaders and elders from across the country are expected to attend.
Dr. Ahmed Ajuji will lead the meeting to discuss significant issues impacting the 23-year-old political party and make important decisions, including reinforcing the expulsion of Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso, Elder Buba Galadima, and the entire national working committee.
Mr. Sunday, speaking to KANO TIMES, emphasized the importance of personal commitment from all stakeholders and elders in terms of capacity and participation for the success of the meeting.
He called on all members, particularly those holding sensitive positions, to attend the meeting.
The NNPP National Secretary reiterated that Kwankwaso, Galadima, and the entire former national working committee led by Dr. Ahmed Ajuji remain expelled from the NNPP.
Similarly, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Governor Abbah Yusuf, remains suspended until December.
Mr. Sunday stressed that the NNPP constitution is supreme for all members, without prejudice to the fundamental norms of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He expressed hope that INEC, under the leadership of Prof. Mahmud Yakubu, would uphold the essence of internal democracy and the inherent objectives for the growth and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria.
Mr. Oginni Olaposi Sunday lamented the actions of Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, highlighting his past roles as a federal minister, two-time governor of Kano State, senator, and NNPP presidential candidate in 2023, and described the situation as an avoidable shame for Nigeria, particularly Kano State.
