Hon. Idris Dankawu, the member representing Kumbotso Federal Constituency, has provided support to 400 youths and women from the 11 wards of the constituency through an empowerment initiative held on Saturday.
The program featured the distribution of grinding machines, sewing machines, 50kg bags of rice, and ₦1,000,000 in conditional cash assistance for a social media aide.
Speaking at the program, Hon. Dankawu said the initiative aims to address the economic challenges faced by his constituents.
“Alhamdulillah, I had the honor of facilitating this empowerment program as part of my tireless efforts to mitigate the current economic hardship affecting our dear people. The distributed items are meant to enhance food and nutrition security while fostering self-reliance. I urge the beneficiaries to make good use of these items to achieve the desired goals,” he stated.
Hon. Mudassir Ibrahim Zawaciki, Chief Whip of the Kano State House of Assembly, commended the effort, describing it as a practical step toward addressing economic hardship.
According to him, “This initiative is a clear demonstration of leadership rooted in empathy and commitment. Empowering women and youth is not just an act of charity but a pathway to community development. We stand firmly behind Hon. Dankawu’s efforts and encourage other leaders to emulate such gestures,” Zawaciki remarked.
Similarly, Hon. Ali Bala, Chairman of the Kumbotso Local Government Caucus Forum, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in driving economic growth and urged beneficiaries to maximize the tools provided.
He emphasized the importance of effectively utilizing the distributed tools.
“Empowerment initiatives like this provide lasting solutions to economic challenges. I call on the beneficiaries to utilize these tools effectively to improve their lives and contribute to the local economy,” he said.
Hon. Rufai Ahmad, Chairman of the NNPP in Kumbotso Local Government, noted that the program could strengthen public trust and community cohesion.
“Hon. Dankawu has set a standard for prioritizing constituents’ welfare. This gesture not only addresses immediate needs but also builds trust and unity among the people of Kumbotso. Such actions solidify our party’s vision of inclusivity and progress,” Ahmad stated.
