The Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KACCIMA) has announced that 300 companies from within and outside Nigeria are expected to participate in the 45th International Trade Fair, scheduled to take place from November 23 to December 7, 2024.
Alhaji Garba Imam, President of KACCIMA, disclosed this during a news conference on Tuesday in Kano, detailing the level of preparations for the event.
The theme of this year’s fair is Non-Oil Export for Economic Prosperity.”
According to Imam, foreign companies from countries such as India and Niger Republic are expected to participate. He assured that all necessary facilities are in place to ensure a successful event.
“We are expecting 300 participants. The gate fee is free for visitors to enable many people to visit the event,” he said.
Imam further revealed that Nigeria’s Vice President, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, will declare the trade fair open, with the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir-Yusuf, serving as the Chief Host. Other dignitaries are also expected to grace the occasion.
To ensure security, the chamber has deployed extensive measures, including engaging 80 security personnel and installing CCTV cameras at the venue to monitor activities and prevent security breaches.
“We have engaged 80 security personnel and installed CCTV cameras at the premises of the event to monitor and record activities to ensure zero security breaches,” Imam stated.
He also announced that free internet services will be provided at the trade fair complex, with visitors granted access to complimentary data during the event.
Imam highlighted the significance of the event’s theme, which focuses on boosting Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings through non-oil exports for economic growth.
He urged the public to attend in large numbers, take advantage of the free entry, and explore opportunities to purchase goods and connect with businesses.
