
The Association of Kano Online Journalists (ASKOJ) mourns the passing of Leadership correspondent Abdullahi Yakubu. The organization extends its condolences to the family of Abdullahi Yakubu, who passed away yesterday.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Comrade Yakubu Salisu, and made available to newsmen in Kano, ASKOJ described Abdullahi Yakubu as a gentleman of the media who will always be remembered for his contributions.
The statement reads in part, “His loss is a hard one, not only for his immediate family and friends, but also for the journalists’ community and the state at large.”
“Yakubu was a quiet and hardworking man who was always committed to his work and always wanted to see the best in every situation.”
“He was a man who believed in justice and always included others when he had the chance. He will be greatly missed.”
“ASKOJ also extends condolences to his organization, Leadership Newspaper, over this great loss, as well as to Kano NUJ and the Kano Correspondent Chapel.”
“Our prayers are with the family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time, as we pray that Allah grants him Aljannah Firdaus.”
