Wife of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje, represented the First Lady, Senator Tinubu, as a charity organization, Chief of Defence Staff and President of Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), donated materials to the initiative.
The Renewed Hope Initiative aims to bring succor and relief to families in Nigeria, and Senator Tinubu is also the National Chairman of the Initiative.
The items donated by DEPOWA include bags of rice, bags of semovita, jerricans of vegetable oil, and wrappers.
Speaking while presenting the items to Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje, who is a member of the initiative and represented Senator Tinubu at the event, the wife of the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Oghogho Musa, who was together with the wives of the other chiefs of staff, said, “POMA is a charity organization meant for empowering youths and women. The organization organizes seminars and training.
“This is a move to support the ‘Renewed Hope Initiative’ in our own little way. This is the main reason we are here.”
Speaking, Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje, who represented Senator Tinubu, lauded the foundation, saying DEPOWA was the first organization to donate to the ‘Renewed Hope Initiative’.
Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje said, “Our First Lady is so excited. This is the first organization to bring such a huge donation. We have been monitoring what they do and the kind of assistance they render to vulnerable groups. We are happy to partner with them. And we are happy to see them key into the project of our First Lady.
“The items will be used judiciously, especially to cushion what our population is experiencing.
“This is coming into good hands. And I assure you that as you give these items, we are going to distribute them, and our people will enjoy it.
“Our mission is to make life better for all families, and by the grace of God, we are going to succeed.
Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the measures he is taking to bring relief to the citizens.
“I have to remind us that our beloved president is doing his best to ensure that everything is put in place to ensure some relief among the citizens.
“Recently he has released the sum of N5 billion to each state for the purpose, including the FCT. The money will be used to purchase food items to be distributed to people. We have to appreciate some of the governors as they have already started swinging into action. Some of them have started distributing the items.”
Hafsat Ganduje urged Nigerians to be patient with Tinubu’s administration.
She said, “Nigerians should continue to be patient. Patience in everything brings success. This is what we are asking Nigerians to do.
“Our First Lady, the mother of the nation and the wife of Mr. President, is planning so many things for women, the youths, and even the aged who are going to benefit.”
However, Professor Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje called on all groups willing to partner with the initiative to come forward, as the initiative is ready to work with them.
She added, “This is what is required in Nigeria to bring love. So the project is not just for our First Lady but for all Nigerians.”
