Members of the Kano Civil Society Forum expressed their deep concern today as they gathered at the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Research and Training, Mambayya House, to protest against the former chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Waiya.
The protest unfolded during the celebration of the 100 days in office of Kano State Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf.
The demonstration commenced with fervor as soon as the master of ceremonies introduced Comrade Ibrahim Waiya to the audience. A chorus of chants and slogans filled the air as members of the Civil Society Forum raised their voices in protest.
The protesters, wielding banners and placards, called for the resignation of Comrade Waiya, urged him to conduct a fresh election, and emphasized that Civil society is not a monarch system.
This protest comes hours after the release by the Concerned Members of the Kano Civil Society Forum on the dissolution of the interim leadership of Ibrahim Waiya after over nine years in office.
