In the bid to improve the activities of various inaugurated committees recently set up, the management of Kano State Polytechnic under the leadership of Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, FCA has set up a Performance and Evaluation Committee to be led by Mal. Salisu Aminu.

Speaking during the inauguration of the committee, the Rector emphasized the uniqueness of institutions like Kano State Polytechnic which makes committees very essential in ensuring effective governance.

Dr. Abubakar reiterated that KSP has six campuses including the Central Administration across all the 3 Senatorial zones of Kano State which makes it different from other tertiary institutions in the state.

“The reason why I constituted various committees immediately after I assumed office was to augment my efforts and strategies which aimed at restoring the lost glory of our dear institution”, Dr. Abubakar stressed.

The Rector listed some of the inaugurated committees and appointed staff that the evaluation and performance committee needs to work with, these include the linkages and collaborations committee, infrastructure and maintenance committee, security committee, clinic and gym committee, consultancy committee, task force on registration, and also other other appointed officers like Coordinator Quality Assurance, Coordinator Summer Programs, Desk Officer, Alumni Association, among others.

While expressing his confidence in the committee members, the Rector charged them to be proactive as the progress and development of the Institution is now dependent on their assignment.

He further urged the chairman and members of the committee to constantly furnish him with the progressive reports of the committees as well as make corrections or amendments whenever the need arises, and even where necessary draw his attention.

In his response, the chairman of the committee who once served as the Director of the School of General Studies and Consultancy Service Unit, Mal. Salisu Aminu thanked the management on behalf of other members, for having confidence in them. He assured the Rector and his management team that the committee would work days and nights, hand in hand with the various committees and officers to deliver responsively and effectively on their responsibilities.

The chairman prayed to the Almighty Allah to give the Rector more courage and strength as well as increase his foresight in bringing more developments thereby achieving his goal of making a newly branded Polytechnic.
