Kano State Polytechnic Rector , Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, attended the flag-off ceremony of the One Hundred and One (101) scholarship beneficiaries sponsored by the Member representing Wudil/Garko Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdulhakeem Kamilu Ado, today, Tuesday, 6th February 2024.
The 101 students who hailed from the Wudil/Garko federal constituency are fully sponsored to further their higher education in various courses at Basic and Remedial Studies, National Diploma, and Higher National Diploma levels offered by Kano State Polytechnic.
In his opening remarks, Hon. Abdulhakeem, on behalf of the entire people of the constituency, expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the support and cooperation received from the Rector and his management team, noting that the gesture will never be forgotten in the history of the local governments.
He reiterated that the essence of his commitment towards the life-changing gestures for his people is to liberate them from ignorance, thereby making them useful members of society.
The Member urged the beneficiaries to utilize the golden opportunity given to them and also called on them to be good ambassadors of the constituency.
In his response, the Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, applauded the commitments of Hon. Abdulhakeem for being the first member to single-handedly sponsor over a hundred students to pursue higher education in the Institution.
He congratulated the people of Wudil/Garko for having a smart, religious, and courageous person like Hon. Abdulhakeem who always has them in his heart as their representative.
The Rector further implores the beneficiaries of the scholarship to make the best use of the golden opportunity to excel in their various fields of studies so as to be among the best students of the institution.
