The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has approved the increase of electricity tariff for customers under the Band A.
Vice Chairman of NERC’s, Musliu Oseni, at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday, assure the increase will see the customers pay N225 kilowatt per hour from the current N66.
Oseni said these customers represent 15 percent of the 12 million electricity customers in the country.
Additionally the commission had also downgraded some customers on Band A to Band B due to non-fulfilment of the need hours of electricity by the electricity distribution company.
Authority confirm that the customers under Band A who benefit 20 hours of electricity supply within 24 hours.
