Today, Friday, Emir of Rano, His Royal Highness Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Inuwa (Autan Bawo), led the traditional Hawan Tsohon Gari procession as part of the ongoing Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Kano State.
The vibrant procession, known locally as Karamar Sallah, saw the Emir visiting the old royal palace located within the historic Rano Old Town.
The Hawan Tsohon Gari is a longstanding tradition that marks the third day of the Eid al-Fitr festivities. It is a colourful and lively event, with residents lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the Emir and his entourage.
The procession typically includes mounted horsemen, elaborately decorated carriages, and cultural performers showcasing Rano’s rich heritage.
