FRSC Confirms 14 Dead in Kano Trailer Accident During Jumu’ah Prayers

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed that 14 people were killed and several others injured when a trailer ran into worshippers during Jumuat prayers in Kano.

The tragic incident occurred in Imawa town, Kura local government area of Kano State, shortly after the Friday prayer.

The trailer, with registration number MKA 537XN, was coming from the Kaduna axis when the driver lost control and crashed into the crowd.

Ibrahim Abdullahi, the FRSC Kano Sector Commander, stated that the accident was reported at 1350hrs.

The statement read,’’ Upon receiving the distress call, FRSC Kano State Command promptly dispatched personnel to the scene, alongside other security agencies, to initiate rescue operations and provide immediate medical assistance to the injured victims.’’

He noted that nine of the deceased were buried in the afternoon, and the injured are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

The Sector Commander extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and reiterated the FRSC’s commitment to road safety.

He urged all road users to strictly adhere to traffic regulations to prevent such avoidable tragedies.
