The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Kano State Chapter has issued a directive to its members regarding the forthcoming Ward Congresses.

The announcement, signed by Caretaker Committee Chairman Alhaji Mai Adamu Mustapha, clarifies procedures for those wishing to contest in the upcoming party congresses.

The circular, addressed to all Local Government Party Chairmen, emphasizes the requirement for any Ward Caretaker Committee members intending to participate in the Ward Congresses to resign from their current positions by June 27, 2024.

This directive aligns with the guidelines set forth in the party’s Constitution (2017 as amended) and a recent decision by the State Executive Committee (SEC).

The notice reads, “I hereby write to inform all Ward Caretaker Committee members that wishes to contest in the forthcoming Ward Congresses to resign from their post on or before 27th June, 2024 as stipulated in the guideline and the Party’s Constitution (2017 as amended).”

It also highlights the consequences of non-compliance, noting that failure to adhere to this directive may result in disqualification from the contest.

Alhaji Mai Adamu Mustapha further stated that this circular supersedes any previous communications on the matter, urging members to strictly follow the new directive.
