Heavy Traffic on Abuja-Kaduna Highway Brings Travel to a Standstill

Gloria Robert

Road users, including motorists and motorcyclists, are facing severe traffic congestion along the Abuja/Kaduna Expressway, with the gridlock stretching for several kilometers from Tapa-Jere to Katarina.

The situation has forced many travelers to seek alternative routes, such as the Kagarko/Kachia/Kaduna road, in a bid to bypass the logjam.

One of the drivers, Aliyu Adamu, lamented, “I have been stuck in the same spot since 9 PM on Friday. It feels like we’re in a desert with no end in sight.”

Another traveler, Yahuza Gambo, remarked, “This road has become a nightmare. I’ve never seen traffic like this in my years of traveling between Abuja and Kaduna.”

A motorcyclist, Victor Joseph, expressed his frustration, saying, “We are at the mercy of this traffic. I left home thinking it was just another day, but now I’m stranded with no hope of getting to my destination soon.”

Bitrus Hope, a frequent traveler on the route, added, “Every time I pass through this road, I hope it’s better, but it only gets worse. It’s a never-ending struggle.”

Farida Aminu, a passenger on one of the buses, shared, “People are losing their patience. The air is thick with frustration, and it’s hard to see any light at the end of this tunnel.”
