A newborn baby was found on a street in the Yar Akwa area of Naibawa community, Tarauni LGA, Kano State, Daily Trust reported.
According to witness Shamsuddeen Sabiu, the baby was found and handed over to the ward head of the area.
Sabiu explained, “We were sitting at a tea joint when a man came and informed us that he heard a baby crying. Initially, we thought it was a cat, but upon investigation, we found that two security men had already taken the baby. They asked us to take the baby to the ward head’s house as they were new to the area, which we did.”
He added, “The baby is a girl and was found with clothes and diapers. She had been left near a parked car.”
Jamilu Abba Danladi, the Ward Head of Yar Akwa, confirmed, “The baby was indeed found and brought to me. We constantly pray for such incidents not to occur. We are thankful that she was found alive and healthy, as she had been left close to a vehicle.”
