ICAN Joins Jigawa State in Mourning Majia Explosion Victims

The Dutse and District Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) has extended condolences to the families of the victims of the tanker explosion in Majia Town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by Sani Ahmad Sulaiman, FCA, Chairman of the Dutse and District Society of ICAN.

The explosion, which claimed over 150 lives and left many others injured, has caused sorrow across the state.

In the statement, the District Society offered prayers for the deceased and for the recovery of the injured.

“We are saddened by this incident and stand with the affected families and the people of Jigawa State,” Sulaiman stated.

The ICAN Dutse District also expressed sympathies to Governor Umar A. Namadi, the Chairman of Taura Local Government, the Emir of Ringim, Sayyadi Mahmud Usman, and the District Head of Majia.

The Society prayed for protection against future tragedies.

The tanker explosion, which occurred on October 15, 2024, in Majia Town, led to significant destruction and loss of life.

Authorities are investigating the cause, while the Jigawa State Government has assured support to affected families and urged residents to cooperate with the investigation.
