Gov. Namadi Takes Action: Sankara Faces Investigation After Arrest for Alleged Adultery

Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi of Jigawa State has approved the immediate suspension of Auwalu Dalladi Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties and a member of the State Executive Council, following allegations made by Kano State Hisbah.

The suspension is aimed at allowing a thorough investigation into the accusations, as confirmed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim.

“The suspension is a precautionary measure intended to facilitate a fair investigation,” said the SSG.

The allegations surfaced in various media outlets, including a report by Kano Times, which stated that Hisbah operatives in Kano arrested Commissioner Auwalu Sankara over alleged adultery involving a married woman.

The incident reportedly occurred after the woman’s husband suspected the affair and reported it to Hisbah authorities, leading to Sankara’s arrest.

Malam Bala Ibrahim emphasized that the government takes the matter seriously. Consequently, Governor Namadi has set up a committee to investigate the truth behind the allegations.

The investigative committee will be chaired by Malam Bala Ibrahim and includes other state officials such as the Commissioner for Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, the Commissioner for Basic Education, the Special Adviser on Security Matters, and the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor.

The committee has been given two weeks to submit its findings.9The Jigawa State government will take further actions based on the outcome of the probe.
