Suspected phone snatchers have allegedly stabbed a 25-year-old businessman, identified as Abdulmalik, to death while he was returning home from Na’ibawa to Sabon Titi in Kano State.
The incident reportedly occurred after the deceased delivered some goods purchased from his business to a customer.
According to Arewa Updates, the suspected attackers stabbed Abdulmalik in the neck while attempting to snatch his phone.
A relative of the deceased, Sadiq Alkantara, who confirmed the incident, said Abdulmalik was a businessman who delivered goods to customers at locations of their choice.
Sadiq said a tricycle rider later found him lying on the road in critical condition and rushed him to Ja’een Hospital for treatment.

He, however, alleged that doctors at the hospital requested the presence of a police officer before commencing treatment.
According to him, Abdulmalik died before the police officer arrived at the hospital.
“The family does not know the identities of those who attacked him,” Sadiq added.
The deceased was later buried according to Islamic rites.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kano State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
Phone snatching and attacks on victims have become a recurring security concern in Kano, with security agencies arresting suspected offenders and prosecuting some of them.
