Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has been named a sports ambassador for Kano State, a role he is set to begin on July 24, 2024.
The announcement was made by Abdullahi Baffa Bichi, Secretary to the State Government, who highlighted Musa’s distinguished career, experience, and notable humanitarian efforts as key reasons for his appointment.
Bichi called on the former Leicester City star to leverage his position to enhance sporting activities in Kano, particularly by supporting local players and clubs.
Expressing his gratitude on Instagram, the 32-year-old Kano Pillars forward shared a copy of his appointment letter and emphasized his eagerness to contribute to youth empowerment and sports development in the state.”I am deeply honoured to be appointed as the Sports Ambassador for Kano State!” Musa wrote.
“This opportunity is humbling, and I’m excited to work towards empowering the youth and promoting sports development across the state. Kano has a rich sporting heritage, and I can’t wait to contribute to building a brighter future for our athletes and communities.”Musa, who has three goals and two assists in four matches for Kano Pillars, also expressed appreciation to the state government.
