The Jigawa State government, with support from the National Information Technology Development Agency (NiTDA), has trained 250 civil servants in digital economy and transformation.
The training, which took place from October 28 to November 1, 2024, in Dutse, included participants from various ministries, departments, and agencies.
This initiative, in collaboration with the state’s head of civil service and the ICT and Digital Economy office, aimed to equip civil servants with the technology necessary to enhance their work activities.
In his welcome address, the head of civil service, Muhammad K. Dagaracheri, urged participants to engage fully in the training to benefit the state’s civil service. Dagaracheri noted that this training aligns with Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s agenda to improve civil service through digital skills development.
Kashifu Inuwa, the director general of NiTDA, represented by Engr. Muhammad Salisu Kaka, highlighted the importance of guiding digital transformation. He mentioned that the agency has established documents to clarify this process for stakeholders.
Kaka emphasized that each organization should embrace its co-values, noting that Jigawa State already possesses its own.
NiTDA, he added, has three co-values in place. One of the organizers, SA Digital Hasheem Haruna Hasheem, stated that the workshop is part of the state’s efforts to bridge the gap in digital skills among civil servants.
The digital economy encompasses various sectors, including e-commerce, digital media, software development, IT services, online education, telecommunications, and digital finance.
