The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast sunshine and haziness across the country from Wednesday to Friday.
In its weather outlook released on Tuesday in Abuja, NiMet predicted moderate dust haze on Wednesday in the northern region, with localized visibility of 1,000 meters or less.
The North Central region is expected to experience slight dust haze throughout the forecast period, while the southern region will see sunny skies and hazy conditions, accompanied by early morning mist and patches of clouds.
Thunderstorms with light rain are anticipated in parts of Cross River, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Akwa Ibom States during the afternoon and evening hours.
On Thursday, NiMet forecasts moderate dust haze with localized visibility of 1,000 meters or less in the northern region, while the North Central region will experience moderate dust haze. The southern region is expected to have sunny skies with hazy conditions.
For Friday, dust haze is expected to persist in the northern and North Central regions, with the southern region experiencing sunny skies and patches of clouds.
NiMet has advised the public to take necessary precautions as dust particles remain suspended in the atmosphere. It also urged individuals with respiratory conditions, such as asthma, to be mindful of the weather conditions.
The agency further advised the public to follow safety guidelines issued by relevant authorities and recommended that airline operators obtain specific weather reports from NiMet for effective flight planning.
