The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated a strategic collaboration with Pakistan to strengthen food security and agricultural development in the country.
This development was announced by the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Sabi Abdullahi, during a courtesy visit by Pakistan’s High Commissioner, Retired Major General Sohail Ahmad-Khan, in Abuja.
Highlighting the importance of the partnership, Senator Abdullahi pointed to the long-standing bilateral relationship between the two nations. “Nigeria is ready to partner with friends to create solutions that work for both nations,” he stated, emphasizing the mutual benefits of such cooperation.
The Minister also reaffirmed President Bola Tinubu’s dedication to addressing food security challenges and tackling climate-related issues affecting agriculture in Nigeria.
In response, High Commissioner Ahmad-Khan expressed Pakistan’s readiness to share its expertise in agriculture, particularly through training, research, and innovative practices.
He noted Pakistan’s global achievements in agricultural production, including its leadership in the cultivation of cotton, sugar, rice, and meat.
The visit also featured the official presentation of a letter by the High Commissioner to the Minister, symbolizing the commitment of both nations to this partnership.
