The Kano State chapter of the National Coalition of the Northern Youth Assembly (Majalisar Matasa Arewa) has conducted its election, introducing a new leadership to address issues affecting young people in the region.
The election, held on January 4, 2024, was supervised by Amb. Ibrahim Waiya, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, alongside Dr. Hafiz Garba, National Secretary, and Comrade Mohammed Hussaini Bauchi, National Assistant Publicity Secretary.
Speaking on the peaceful and transparent conduct of the election, Amb. Waiya remarked, “This election is a testament to the Assembly’s commitment to unity and the empowerment of young leaders in Northern Nigeria.”
The newly elected leaders include Comrade Yusuf Nuhu as Chairman, Mashkura Abubakar Hassan as Vice Chairperson, and Amb. Nworisa Michael as Secretary, among others. The team has pledged to focus on youth empowerment and address issues such as education, employment, and healthcare.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Yusuf Nuhu stated, “We are dedicated to amplifying the voices of young people and fostering their active participation in shaping the future of Kano State and the Northern region as a whole.”
Amb. Nworisa Michael added, “Our goal is to ensure that every young person has a platform to contribute to the development of our region. Together, we will achieve great things.”
