Nigeria Customs Receives 573,519 Applications for 3,927 Job Vacancies in One Week  

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announced on Tuesday that it had received 573,519 applications for its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise just one week after opening its portal.

This follows the approval by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Olawale Edun, for the recruitment of 3,927 officers into the NCS.

Providing details, NCS spokesperson Abdullahi Maiwada shared a breakdown of the applications across different categories and ranks for both general duty and support staff positions.

“For the general duty under the superintendent cadre, we have 249,218 applicants. Under the superintendent cadre support staff, we have 27,722 applicants with HNDs and university degrees,” Maiwada disclosed.

He added, “For the inspector cadre, which requires a National Certificate of Education (NCE) or National Diploma qualifications, 115,634 applied for general duty roles, while 12,952 applied as support staff.”

Regarding customs assistant roles, Maiwada said, “These positions require secondary school certificates. For general duty, we received 153,593 applications, while 14,400 applied for support staff roles.”
