NYSC Corps Members to Receive N77,000 Monthly Allowance, Says DG

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has assured corps members that they will soon begin receiving a minimum monthly allowance of N77,000.

Speaking in Abuja during the commissioning of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company, the DG confirmed that arrangements for the increase in allowances had been finalized.

He emphasized that the welfare and security of corps members are his top priorities, adding that in 2025, they will receive all the benefits they deserve.

Regarding the staff bus donation, Ahmed noted that it was aimed at addressing transportation challenges. He acknowledged that both staff and corps members serving at the scheme have faced difficulties commuting to and from their offices.

The Chief Executive Officer of Capital Express Insurance, Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, stated that the donation was part of an ongoing partnership with the NYSC.

He explained that the initiative was meant to ease staff transportation challenges in light of the high cost of fuel and transportation in the Abuja metropolis.

Ogwezhi further emphasized the importance of organizations giving back to society, noting that the legacy of any company is defined by the positive impact it has on the communities where it operates.
